A 37-year-old local man was found to have break and enter tools after being apprehended on a warrant for failing to attend court.
According to a release from Kingston Police, At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, an officer on patrol observed the accused walking on Garrett St. The officer recognized the accused and was aware he was wanted. When the officer exited his cruiser the accused ran. The officer apprehended the accused after a short foot chase. A large knife was found tucked in his waistband and tools commonly used for break and enter were found in his backpack.
The accused was charged with breach of recognizance, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of break and enter tools.
The accused was transported to police headquarters and lodged in cells to attend a bail hearing the following day.
